First generation Brazilian-American, Daniel Frimm’s music and teaching styles are very unique because Daniel was a self-taught musician who couldn’t read music and understood very little music theory and it wasn’t until the age of 19 when Daniel was accepted into the Berklee College of Music when he began to further his musical development. There he pursued a degree in Music Business/Management and Contemporary Writing & Production which allowed him to develop his musical knowledge, talents and abilities including his understanding of the music industry.
In 2009, after graduation, Daniel moved to Denver, CO where he began his solo career as performer under the name Danny Bastos, using his grandfather’s name, Sebastian Bastos. His grandfather worked in the music industry in Brazil for much of his life and although a terrific woodwind player in his own right, he never had the opportunity to perform himself. As an homage to him, Danny Bastos was born, to give him the opportunity that he never had in his life.
In 2017, Daniel married his beautiful wife Aimee and in 2020 welcomed their first child, Theodore Sebastian. Now that his name will live on in a new child, Daniel is returning to his roots and pursuing his musical life as himself, for himself, and for his future. Creating music that is a representation of Daniel’s true self, true dreams, true feelings, true emotions, true love and light.
Growing up with a multi-cultural background , being influenced and surrounded by a wealth of music from Brazil and the United States, Daniel is never satisfied with the ordinary. Breathing new life into his music by pulling from the vast array of his musical experience, love and passion that is evident through his music.
